What if I can’t take my state prelicensing exam within the deadline?

After completing our prelicensing courses and final exam, you will receive a certificate that will allow you to submit a background check and application to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. This must be done before taking the Commission’s exam, and you have 180 days from the date you submit your background check and application, to take the Commission exam. If you have submitted your background check and application and are unable to take the Commission exam within the 180 days due to illness or testing centers being closed, you can email the Commission at [email protected] to request an extension.
